About Me & My Art
I am drawn to ceramic clay because of its flexibility, offering me freedom of spontaneity over total commitment to an idea. I start with a general plan but allow myself the option of making changes as I work.

My favorite tools are my fingers and most of my pieces are made using a combination of slab, carving and pinching.

The majority of my working time consists of smoothing and finishing, and I usually prefer my design to take precedence over the finish.

My pieces, whether realistic or fantasy have a sense of movement and emotion, and more often than not, humor.  My choice of clay and glaze color is usually subtle, but I will sometimes break away and create something bolder.

I often name my pieces for the emotions they convey, but I'm also happy to leave interpretation up to the viewer.  I always enjoy hearing what others see and feel from viewing them.
